Welcome to the World Prince George!

Welcome to the World Prince George of Cambridge. May i start off by saying what a beautiful baby Prince George is. Of course, he also has beautiful parents, of whom I have a lot of respect for and i think that they are wonderful role models for the young people of Britain today. I certainly thought that Kate looked lovely when she came out of St Mary's Hospital on Tuesday evening, especially to say that she had just given birth 27 hours earlier. I will certainly take heed and if i have another child i will definitely try to better my look of a baggy Joules Hoody, maternity jeans, hair scraped back and no makeup on like when i gave birth to my son! I was also very proud of The Duke of Cambridge as well for getting that car seat in first go! It took my husband and my mum several hours to decipher ours - which bit went where, which strap was which, etc, so well done William! I am also very impressed with the way The Duke and Duchess have been so attentive to the media and general public who were so eager to see baby cambridge, and how kind they have been to answer the many questions asked by the journalists there.

Of course, just like his fashionista Mum, Prince George is certainly already a style icon! Many people have been trying to buy the shawl we have so far seen him in, (see below).

The shawl is a Super-Fine Merino Wool Christening Shawl from G.H. Hurt & Sons, a company who have been supplying the finest lace knitwear since 1912. From "The Shawl Factory" in Nottingham, England, they design and manufacture very high quality ladies shawls and scarves, baby christening shawls and a variety of heritage knitted lace products, which celebrates 400 years of this proud British industry. According to the papers, the company, who have a long standing history with the Royal Family, sent the Duke and Duchess this £45 shawl as a gift, and it is apparently the same shawl used for Prince William when he was a baby. However, as i have already mentioned, they are very hard to get hold of, and i believe that they have sold out of shawls online!

There are similar ones out there on the market. The Wool Company do a similar one called the Pure Wool Baby Shawl for £36, (see below).

There are other shawls from this company that are similar as well for varying prices, but all are very reasonable considering the amount of use you get out of a shawl.  This has an excellent review and is very soft for Baby.

There is also the Sue Hill Collection of Cashmere shawls, which are more expensive, but absolutely gorgeous anyway. (See below).

Hopefully, if you have been desperate for a shawl like the one the Cambridges have been using, i hope that this has helped you. I have already checked stockists on Amazon, and they seem to be ok for items. Good luck with that.

The other item we have seen Prince George in was a lovely little patterned blanket when he was in his car seat. (See below).

The blanket is believed to be from a company called Aden and Anais. They are actually swaddling muslim sheets and come in a pack of four, known as the Jungle Jam Set, RRP £44.95 (See below).

The company have many designs to choose from so if your not keen on these don't worry, it won't take you long to pick a pack you do like! There are lots of different designs of these on Amazon, but if you are after the Jungle Jam set you will have to be quick!

Lastly for todays blog, the car seat used to take Prince George home is a Britax B Safe car seat, which can be purchased in most good baby retailers.

I believe from the press that the next time we are likely to see Kate and Prince George is when/ if they go and stay at Buckleby with the Middletons, after Williams paternity leave ends. I would also guess that the christening will probably take place when The Queen and The Duke of Edinborough return from Balmoral.

I hope that you have found todays blog useful. I hope that William and Kate are having fun being new parents, (and getting plenty of sleep!). Lets hope that they are left in peace now for a while to get to know their new baby boy.
